It's really more than 10,000 Palestinian prisoners. It is also 2.3 million prisoners in a concentration camp. Prisoners aren't the same thing as hostages. Israel doesn't even offer to let them out so holding people prisoner endlessly is worse. With hostages, the prisoner goes free at the end. Israel just locks people up. Neither type of action should be condoned. But the temporary hostage situation pales in comparison with Israel's long, traumatizing imprisonment and firing at millions. I certainly hope the hostages are all returned very soon. But this endless imprisonment of Gaza -- when does it end?
