Wow what a great investigative piece and amazing source documents. It's a horrible situation when America respects no laws except as a one sided matter of convenience. Thank you for the talent and effort dedicated to help free Julian, fingers crossed this might be the last straw destroying America's endless quest to silence him forever. If the Spanish Supreme court became nervous that Spain were considering tearing up the Extradition Agreement, then the US might become reasonable (less would be near impossible). Loads and loads of respect to David Mendoza. I would have slung a hook, but you toughed it out (an understatement).

I am very sad that his life has slipped away from him and can only hope he gains some normalcy back sooner rather than later.

One of the most damaging aspects of Russia-gate and the ongoing liberal union with CIA/neocons was it took a fundamental fact about US political life -- the dominance and supreme danger of the Deep State -- and turned it into a conspiracy theory no decent person should believe.
"The United States have never broken a diplomatic assurance, ever”. Oh right, what about those Dozens of times the US promised various Native American peoples that the inferior lands they were left with would "remain in tribal hands as long as grass grows, the rivers run, and the wind blows"?
I have just realized I am mistaken in the sense the US is not trying to extradite from Spain, but from the UK, who won't do a damn thing to ensure any assurances are honoured. They are working hand in glove with the US. Utterly repugnant and shameful they both are. Presumably Spain can decide on the UC Global spying case, which appears certain and then with a conviction us that to pressure the UK and US?

To do so would be delusional. The US has spied on him and his family, plotted to kidnap/kill him, paid informants to lie … the tyranny that is the US government, knows no bounds. It has no credibility.

Why whould Australians expect any better from their crass sycophantic government? Way back, Wilfred Burchett wrote and photographed the human effects immediately after the atomic bombing of Hiroshima. The Australian government joined USA in pertsecuting him mercilessly.
Assange's sitiation is worse.
USA and UK have made sure to get this man into a physically and mentally broken state - they're making sure that Assange will not be able to carry out a courageous protracted battle as Mendoza did. And Australia, USA's Deputy Sheriff, is not Spain.
The Mendoza case isn't the only one. There's the Sholam Weiss case (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sholam_Weiss) and the Pietro Venezia murder case, where Italy so mistrusted the US assurances they forced US prosecutors to travel to Italy to try the case there.
